Brady's Prayer

Continuing with the theme of families, faith, and children, I wanted to re-post one of Brady's favorite prayers that he learned from his three year old class last year.

Children can teach us so many things about faith.  Two nights ago, as Brady and I were saying our prayers, I experienced yet another moment of Brady being my teacher.  After saying what we were thankful for that day, he said, "Mom, I have a new prayer I want to say that one of my teachers taught me."  His prayer was:

Father, we thank you,
For this day,
I am your Child,
Please Show me the Way.
Amen.

Those simple words come out of my son's mouth were a moment of grace for me--what a lesson and prayer of gratitude and surrender in 17 words.

What if our daily prayer consisted of those two simple things:  thankfulness and a turn to God?
What are we doing this Lent to make a "return to God"  or to deepen our relationship with Him?
